Kate and I took a weekend trip to Terre Haute, Indiana to see the 71st Wabash Valley Juried Exhibition at the Swope Art Museum and I won the grand prize in painting!  I was beginning to think my cap gun painting was cursed.  Before this show at the Swope Museum I couldn't get it accepted into any exhibits.  Finally, it wins big!

Color Vision Eye Test

I found this test on Facebook and thought it was fun, and maybe a bit addicting.  My guess is that artists would naturally score higher than the rest of the population.  I can consistently get my score around 30 or so, my best is 40.

My Iwo Jima painting was accepted into the Biennial Quad State Exhibit in Quincy, IL.  This show will have 100 pieces in it, so it's a pretty large show.  I just completed my crate for the painting so it arrives there safely.  If you want to see how I make my crates check out my website page, Shipping a Painting.

Progress on wWII Rations Painting

I have more images from this work in progress.  I'm starting to get into the fine detail parts such as the texture on the matches and the very small letters.  It's mostly the letters in this painting that will consume most of my time.
